For the coffee-banana shake, first mix the coffee with the sugar until dissolved. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Blend coffee, bananas, vanilla, almond kernels and syrup in a hand blender. Add ice cubes and blend until coarsely chopped.
Pour the coffee-banana shake into two highball glasses and garnish with coconut flakes.
