Preheat the stove to 150 °C. Butter a shallow baking dish about 20 x 30 cm.

In a large frying pan with a thick bottom, heat the milk over medium heat. While stirring, slowly sprinkle in the cornmeal and continue stirring for 10 minutes until the mixture thickens.

Reduce the heat, add the remaining ingredients and stir for another 2 minutes. Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for about 2 hours.

Serve warm with plenty of vanilla ice cream.

Preparation Tip:

Instead of raisins, you can also use finely chopped dates.
